Terms and Conditions

Your Right to Cancel

You may cancel your order (once accepted by us) for any reason up to the point of the alteration or repair being carried out. If you do cancel the order within this time, any payments made by you will be refunded in full within 30 days, less any postage charges incurred. 


Alterations & Repairs

Quickstitch carries out a wide variety of alterations and repairs.  Please note the following conditions before placing an order:

  • Shrinkage – if the garment you require altering is new, we advise you to follow the care instructions on the garment (cotton, wool or linen) and we recommend you wash them for shrinkage before any alterations are carried out.

  • Clean or washed – please ensure that garments are either freshly laundered or dry cleaned before they are presented for repair or alteration.

  • Pinning & Measurement – We offer a measurement service which will be carried out by a trained member of our team. We do not accept responsibility for errors where pinning or measuring has not been undertaken by a member of our staff.

  • Cutting & Sewing – alterations will be carried out using methods of cutting and sewing as per our company standards unless and otherwise stated by the customer in writing.

  • Bridal & Formal – we strongly advise that when having garments altered, particularly wedding and formal wear, that the underwear and shoes that are to be worn with the garment are worn during fitting

 

Pricing & Payment

All prices on our marketing materials and websites are indicative prices and are accurate at the time of publication. Each order will be priced individually by the Sales Assistant. Where the order is very complex you may be given an estimate based on the number of hours required to complete the order, this estimate can be subject to change without prior notification although our team will endeavour to keep you informed of any changes. If you are not satisfied with the price quoted, you must discuss it with the Sales Assistant prior to any work being started. We do not retrospectively negotiate our prices once the work has been started and/or completed.

 

We accept payment by credit/debit card or in cash. All transactions are shown in pounds sterling (£) and, where appropriate, are inclusive of UK sales tax (VAT) at the current rate. The current rate of VAT is 20%.

 

Collection of Goods

When placing your order, you will be advised of your collection date/time. Please be advised this is an estimate and subject to change without prior notification.

Unclaimed garments will be disposed of if not collected within 90 days of the due date and time on your ticket.


Claims / Returns for unsatisfactory work

We advise that all work is examined before you leave the store.  In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with the work carried out you must notify us before leaving and allow us to inspect the garment.

For our postal service we require you to get in touch no more than 12 hours after your parcel has been delivered back to you. 

Where the fault lies with the customer, we will endeavor to repair and/or alter the item to your satisfaction at your cost. Where we are clearly at fault we will endeavor to repair and/or alter the item to your satisfaction at our cost.  The garment must be returned to our store for inspection. Where we are clearly at fault and a repair and/or alteration is no longer possible we will provide credit, cash compensation or replacement. This will be at the discretion of the Company Directors. If compensation is issued we will retain the original garment. 

Right to Refuse

We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer for reasons including (but not limited to) circumstances of actual or implied physical or verbal abuse towards our business or our employees, Issues with garment cleanliness. Please note, our store is under 24-hour CCTV surveillance for the protection our staff and our business. We are registered with the information commissioners office in order to meet our date protection obligations.  

 

Statutory Rights
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
